Matcha Holiday Gift Ideas

I’m obsessed with all things matcha, and the holidays are the perfect excuse to share that obsession. Whether you’re shopping for a fellow matcha love or just treating yourself, I’ve put together a list of unique gift ideas that get weirder as we go. Let’s dive in!

  1. Matcha Pouring Bowl

    Price: $39

One of the biggest unlocks I’ve found for making matcha lattes is being able to whisk the matcha and milk in the same bowl. That’s why my first pick is the porcelain Matcha Pouring Bowl from Rishi Tea. At 600 milliliters, it can handle even your largest lattes, and the spout gives you a smooth, drip-free pour.

2. Resin Whisk

Price: $23 (fluctuates with JPY changes)

Now, I know some of you might cringe at the idea of using a bamboo whisk directly with milk (and you should!). I never recommend using a bamboo whisk with anything other than water as it can accelerate mold growth.

That’s where this resin whisk from Ippodo comes in. It’s durable, dishwasher-safe, and can be fully disassembled for cleaning. It’s also perfect for travel. Just toss it in your bag and go.

3. Tea Whisk Ring

Price: $40

Speaking of travel. You aren't going to find a more convenient way to make matcha on the go than this. The Tea Whisk Ring from Astrid Tea. Just pop it in a bottle and give it a shake. It's a lot like a protein bottle shaker but specialized to make great matcha foam.

4. Matcha Optimized Water

Price: TDB (soon to be released)

Now if you really want to get the most out of your matcha, you’ll want to dial in your water.

Tenshin Matcha makes these mineral drops you can add to distilled water to create “matcha-optimized” water — enhancing the umami and subtle sweetness of your tea.

5. Matcha Mill Club

Price: starts $125 for 3 months of matcha

For the true matcha aficionado, there’s no better gift than freshly milled matcha. Because matcha powder is so fine, its flavor starts degrading almost immediately. Ooika’s Matcha Mill Club grinds it fresh each month in the U.S. and ships it to your door within the same week. It doesn’t get fresher than that.

Once you try fresh milled matcha it is hard to go back! Although this is expensive, I cannot recommend it enough. I have been a subscriber myself for over 2 years.
